Elon Musk recently took to Twitter and took a poll where he asked if he should sell 10% of his stock in Tesla. The poll ended up finding almost 60% of participants said yes. It was noted that Musk sold off about $5 billion worth of Tesla stock, which he will be taxed for. Despite the gesture, Senator Bernie Sanders has still been pushing for the rich to be taxed more, and took to Twitter to say, “We must demand that the extremely wealthy pay their fair share. Period.”
Elon Musk fired back at Sanders’ tweet unprompted a day later, saying, “I keep forgetting that you’re still alive.” From there, he fired off another shot, saying, “Want me to sell more stock, Bernie? Just say the word….” This comes after Tesla lost $40 billion in market value after Musk addressed the company’s Hertz deal. Take a look above.
