The tragic incident at Travis Scott’s ‘Astroworld’ Festival has caused much backlash after it was revealed that numerous people lost their lives, along with hundreds of injuries. The backlash caused many companies to distance themselves from the artist, with brands like Fortnite pulling items related to the artist from their store. Now, the Houston Rockets have moved to distance themselves from the rapper as they postponed “Travis Scott Day.”

Gretchen Sheirr—Houston Rocket’s President of Business Operations, said “Travis Scott Day” was supposed to go down this past Wednesday during the team’s face-off with the Detroit Pistons. Sheirr went on to say, “After what was a horrific tragedy last week, we felt it would have been insensitive and not the right time for us to move forward. Tonight, we’ll honor victims with a moment of silence to help our community heal.”

The chairman of the Reputation Management Consultants—Eric Schiffer, spoke on Scott’s image in the public, saying “It is an apocalyptic marketing turn for that brand when you double down on this icon to Gen Z that now has effectively detonated in your face.” Stay tuned for more updates.
