According to reports, the transition from Facebook to the company's new name, Meta, is proving less smooth than expected.

A computer company called Meta PC applied to trademark the word "Meta" for anything related to computers, tablets, software, and other tech-related products. The men behind Meta PC told TMZ they've been in business for a little over a year and moved to trademark the name to build their brand further.

The company hasn't yet been awarded the trademark, but they do have a leg up on Facebook in hopes of landing the name. Meta PC founders Joe Darger and Zack Shutt said they are willing to give up the quest to trademark "Meta" if Zuckerberg and Facebook fork over $20 million.

While the number seems steep, Darger and Shutt said it would cost tons of money to rebrand the company.
