Television host and announcer Greg Hutson, also known as Greg Hamilton in the WWE, was released by the professional wrestling company just days after threatening to sue Westside Gunn. Earlier this week, Hutson stated on Instagram that he wanted Westside Gunn to pay him $20,000 for sampling his voice without his permission and threatened to involve WWE's lawyers.

"Well @westsidegunn @buffalokidsgallery let's hope that since you STOLE my voice for your incoherent kindergarten fables…that you saved up enough delivering for Door Dash….because….You….are…," Hutson wrote in a since-deleted Instagram post. "You'll be paying me for years….apologize and I'll think about not collecting every dime for the rest of your life….or I can just get WWE lawyers….that's ok too. Settle with my lawyer. And don't EVER use my voice again….so wrong."

While Westside Gunn, who's a well-known WWE fan, never issued a public response to the announcer, Hutson continued to press the Griselda rapper to pay him or the price would continue to increase.

"It was 20k, but at noon eastern it's $30k and we go to court," he wrote. "Tick… tock… the longer this goes, the longer I have in court… you ready to settle or do u wanna dance with WWE lawyers? It's a slam dunk. Price goes up by the day."

Days after calling out Westside Gunn, it was announced that WWE released the announcer. Hutson issued a statement on his release and said the departure was mutual.

"After 6 years and 52 weeks a year, it's time to say 'goodbye,'" Hutson wrote. "First and foremost, don't let the internet or social media gas you up; this was a mutual respect departure from a great company. Nothing but respect from both sides. It's business. We all know our worth."

Greg Hutson joined the WWE in 2015 and had been a ring announcer for the company's Smackdown brand since 2016.
