According to reports, Playboi Carti’s concert scheduled to take place in Houston, Texas, was shut down following fans rushing security gates.
Reports noted the fans who were waiting to see the rapper for his ‘Narcissist’ tour were waiting out in the rain for hours, which led them to “push over metal detectors, throwing down barricades, and trying to force their way inside,” before eventually getting the best of the security on-site. Even though the rough ordeal, Carti’s show was canceled. Because of this, fans became angrier, resulting in the Houston Police Department showing up to the site.
The venue—NRG Park, released a statement on the matter, saying, “Last night in the interest of public safety and on the advice from the Houston Police Department, the Playboi Carti concert scheduled for NRG Arena was canceled. The safety of all guests, staff, and artists is our highest priority." One of the incidents that went down during the riot reportedly found a Carti fan punching a police horse. Take a look above.
