According to reports, a plane crashed into a suburban San Diego residential neighborhood on Monday leaving at least two dead.

Authorities say the twin-engine Cessna C340 aircraft struck several homes and multiple vehicles. One of the vehicles included a UPS truck and the UPS worker was one of the reported fatalities of the crash.

“It’s a pretty brutal scene for our guys and we’re trying to comb through it,” said Deputy Fire Chief Justin Matsushita. The plane originally took off from Yuma, AZ and was scheduled to land at Montgomery-Gibbs Executive Airport.

“We do not yet know how many people were on board,” said Donnell Evans, a spokesman with the Federal Aviation Administration. “The FAA will release the tail number of the aircraft after investigators verify it at the accident site. The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board will investigate. The NTSB will be in charge of the investigation and will provide additional updates.”
