Dave Chappelle’s latest comedy special, his last one for his massive Netflix deal—‘The Closer’ has recently been released. The special is already going viral, as Chappelle has addressed the controversy surrounding DaBaby.

Chappelle took the time to speak on DaBaby’s recent fallout in the public eye after he went on a homophobic rant during his Rolling Loud Miami set. Chappelle went on to say that DaBaby reportedly shooting a man at Walmart and killing him was less offensive to the public than him speaking on the LGBTQ community.

The comedian compared the backlash DaBaby faced to his own sets that found people calling him out after comparing how LGBTQ folks are treated as opposed to Black people. Chappelle went on to say, “All the questions you might have had about all these jokes I’ve said in the last few years, I hope to answer tonight. And I’d like to start by addressing the [LGBTQ] community directly. I want every member of that community to know that I come here tonight in peace and I hope to negotiate the release of DaBaby.” Take a look above.
