According to reports, the drug dealer who sold Mac Miller the narcotics that took his life—Cameron James Pettit, was denied a request to leave prison to attend his grandfather’s funeral.

Recently, Pettit filed a motion to be temporarily released from prison to travel to Portola Valley, California, for his grandpa’s funeral. The parents of Pettit reportedly offered $50,000 in bond, but a US district judge turned down their request. It was noted that authorities feel if Pettit was given bond, he would dip off not return to finish the remainder of his sentence.

The incident that took Miller’s life happened in September 2018 and found him taking counterfeit oxycodone pills that ultimately were laced with fentanyl. Pettit, along with two other suspects in the incident, are currently all locked up and facing 20 years to life after they were charged with the distribution of fentanyl.
