According to reports, Washington Wizards general manager Tommy Sheppard revealed some of the details surrounding this summer's blockbuster trade that sent Russell Westbrook to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Sheppard told reporters that Westbrook saw this as a "Lakers or bust" transaction. When the former MVP was approached about playing for his other hometown team, the Los Angeles Clippers, Westbrook told Sheppard "hell no."

"Russell actually never asked to move on," Sheppard said in an interview with NBC Sports Washington. "He just said, ‘If I can get to the Lakers, that’d be something I would love to do. If not, I’ll be back here.' I said, ‘What about the Clippers?’ He said, ‘Hell no.’"
