The NFL season has started up again, and it appears players are still getting ready to get back into action. However, Dallas Cowboys player La’el Collins has run into trouble, as he was suspended for trying to bribe the drug-test collector for the NFL, according to sources that spoke with ESPN.

The NFL’s collective bargaining agreement doesn’t suspend players for having positive marijuana tests. However, Collins reportedly missed multiple tests he was set to take and also tried to bribe the test collector, which became his issue.

At first, the NFL was going to suspend the player for five games, but the NFL Players Association negotiated down to a two-game ban. Collins reportedly appealed the suspension, but an arbitrator ended up ruling the five-game suspension be put back in place.

A lawyer for Collins attempted to appeal the decision, but it is believed by sources that the suspension won’t be reduced. As of now, Collins will not be eligible to return until October 18.
