According to reports, Enrique Tarrio—the leader of the Proud Boys, was sentenced to more than five months in prison after he reportedly burned a Black Lives Matter banner that was taken from a church located in Washington, D.C., as well as carried two high-capacity firearm magazines ahead of being arrested weeks later.

The Department of Justice noted Tarrio pled guilty to one count of destruction of property as well as one count of attempted possession of a large-capacity ammunition feeding device.

Tarrio issued an apology in the matter, but Superior Court Judge Harold Cushenberry didn’t buy it, saying, “ Mr. Tarrio has clearly, intentionally, and proudly crossed the line from peaceful protest and assembly to dangerous and potentially violent conduct. He could not have cared less about the laws of the District of Columbia."

Tarrio was sentenced to 150 days for attempted possession of a large capacity ammunition feeding device and 90 days for destruction of property. 155 days would be suspended from Tarrio’s sentence due to him committing to serving three years probation. Tarrio will also have to pay $1,000 in fines and $347 to the church whose banner was stolen.
