The sudden and tragic passing of actor Michael K. Williams has gripped the entertainment world, with many of his peers and fans expressing heartache over the news.

In a now-deleted Instagram post, 50 Cent offered words on Williams's passing, but his remarks garnered backlash for insensitivity.

50 posted a screenshot of the headline about Williams's death and captioned it, "Damn if you didn’t see Raising Kanan check it out that fentanyl is no joke, killing the clientele. RIP michael k. williams.”

Williams was discovered in his Brooklyn apartment on Monday after what authorities believe is an apparent drug overdose.
