According to reports, All-Star power forward LaMarcus Aldridge has been cleared to return to the court after abruptly retiring last season. Aldridge made the announcement soon after signing with the Brooklyn Nets when doctors discovered an irregular heart. The condition reportedly stems from a 2007 diagnosis of rapid heartbeat stemming from Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome.

But now that Aldridge is cleared to play, he is likely to re-sign with the Brooklyn Nets, who are stacking a veteran-laden team much like the Los Angeles Lakers. According to Shams Charania, the Nets are leading the way to sign Aldridge, but other contenders are also interested in his services.

In his five appearances for the Nets last season, Aldridge, 36, averaged 12.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks per game.
