Update 08/31/2021 10:12pm:

The retirement of one Jake Paul is quite possibly the shortest retirement stint in sports after turning around just a day after claiming to step away from the sport he's already back.

Paul tweeted on Tuesday, "Updated status: I’m coming out of retirement."

This should come as no surprise to anyone considering the notoriety and fortune Paul has amassed since entering the boxing ring. Not to mention, fighters (both in boxing and MMA) often retire only to find themselves back in the ring to secure another massive payday.

Jake Paul took to Twitter after his 8-round, split-decision victory against UFC fighter Tyron Woodley on Sunday (August 29), stating that he's now "retired." He wrote, "Updated status: Retired boxer."

Many people are speculating whether Jake is telling the truth about being retired, giving his penchant for drumming up drama in the past. After the fight, Paul was already teasing a potential future bout against former UFC Champion Conor McGregor, who he's feuded with on social media. Paul also told the media after the fight, "We’re on the path to a lot bigger fights, I’m salivating too because I’m just getting warmed up."

Paul and Woodley also agreed to get a tattoo of the winner's choice after the fight. Jake stated that he wants Tyron to tattoo, "I love Jake Paul," which must be visible while wearing shorts and a shirt.
