Marc Lamont Hill recently explained his stance on the death penalty while speaking to Rizza Islam on BNC News, and Hill stated that he thinks the death penalty should be abolished, even for Charleston church shooter Dylann Roof. This comes after a federal appeals court upheld Dylann Roof's conviction and death sentence last week.
Rizza Islam said that Dylann Roof's callousness toward killing nine Black churchgoers in Charleston, South Carolina in 2015, and saying that he doesn't regret killing them is solid enough evidence that he should be sentenced to death. Hill then countered by pointing out that innocent people have been put to death under the death penalty, and those errors are proof that it shouldn't exist.
