Police released the surveillance footage of a 70-year-old woman who was ambushed and fatally shot by two Chicago men on Monday.

Yvonne Ruzich was reportedly parked outside waiting for the grocery store where she worked to open when she was ambushed by two men. The security footage shows parked beside her stepson before a third car parks behind Ruzich's. Two men in hoodies are seen exiting the third vehicle and opening fire on the driver side of Ruzich's car.

After the initial shots were fired, Ruzich and her stepson attempted to flee in separate vehicles despite Ruzich getting hit by one of the shots. However, she hit a street sign and allowed the gunmen to catch up and shoot her multiple times. Ruzich was later pronounced dead at the University of Chicago Medical Center.

According to Ruzich's boyfriend, Phil McGivney, she was a retired city worker who decided to work at the grocery store in order to stay busy. Investigators are still working to identify and apprehend the suspects responsible for the shooting.
