Former Death Row artist Danny Boy spoke on his past friendship and eventual beef with Ray J during a recent interview with "The Art Of Dialogue." When asked about his relationship with Ray J, he confirmed that the two had beef after previously being friends.
"Yeah, we had beef, pork, potato chips, sleepovers, girls -- he was like a friend to me. That was my homie," Danny Boy said.
He claimed the two used to run around Los Angeles together and had a whole crew of friends. However, Danny Boy hinted at Ray J changing as his celebrity status started to rise.
Danny Boy eventually stopped going to L.A., because it reminded him of his former Death Row days, and talked about working a regular job at a cemetery. He eventually returned to the city and visited a barbershop he used to frequent. There, he learned that Ray J spread rumors about him.
While he was drinking and smoking with some of the barbers, they were shocked he was smoking and insinuated that he had a drug problem. When Danny Boy questioned them about where they received their information, he was told Ray J said he was battling crack addiction while working at a funeral home. The barbers also claimed Ray J told them Danny Boy "was forcing some gay s***" on him.
Ray J happened to enter the barbershop after Danny Boy found out the rumors. When one of the men tried questioning Ray J about his alleged remarks, Ray J shied away from the subject before Danny Boy pressed him further.
"And I'm like, 'Yeah, tell me.' And then I just immediately started going around the room and started saying some things I'm sure that made him upset...From that time, we just never really talked again," Danny Boy stated.
Danny Boy refused to say what he said to Ray J, admitting he's trying to repair the friendship and they share mutual friends.
"My job isn't to put [anybody's] business out publicly or on front or anything that I feel is a certain way," he responded. "But I won't allow you to call me gay or f***** or any of those names when, quite honestly, I don't think you could say those things. We all could say things about each other that people would probably say was gay."
He admitted to being hurt by the rumors considering the friendship he shared with Ray J. He also gave his thoughts on Ray J later becoming Suge Knight's "little homie" after Death Row's 90s run, recalling a time when Ray J couldn't hang around him when things got "hot" at Death Row.
