Quando Rondo was featured on the first episode of Big U's "Checc'n-In" podcast. During his appearance, Quando Rondo talked about his turbulent upbringing and the fatal incident with King Von. The rapper also admitted that his success has not been very enjoyable despite his troubled childhood.
"Everything don't be glitter and gold even once you successful," the rapper said. "Everything ain't good. Really nothing good. Not even the money because what come with all the stuff -- it ain't no happiness."
He continued by revealing that he was born a crack baby and that his mother's drug habit lasted until he was 15 years old. Quando Rondo also talked about being in and out of juvenile detention centers and having to live in foster homes after he was burned with an iron when he was one year old. Although he and his brother were eventually adopted when he was seven, he admitted to being a rebellious child.
At the beginning of the clip, Quando Rondo also spoke briefly about the King Von incident. Big U acknowledged that there was no previous beef between Quando Rondo and King Von and that the two had recently spoken to each other prior to the deadly shootout.
"Everybody scream, 'Protect the brand.' When the brand get protected, everybody wanna be mad," Quando Rondo said. "This what come with it."
Earlier this year, Quando Rondo and Big U had a public fallout after Big U claimed he rejected the rapper's call for help following the King Von altercation. After Quando Rondo's response, the two made peace and were spotted together for what looks like was Rondo's podcast appearance.
