Lyft driver Albert Boakye was arrested Tuesday after he was accused of attacking passenger and country singer Clare Dunn in Nashville, Tennessee.

Dunn claims she and her friend were sharing Lyft, on June 26, before the friend was dropped off. The 34-year-old said Boakye became agitated after she suggested he take another route and pointed out a missed turn. Dunn claimed the 46-year-old driver started yelling at her before pulling over less than a mile from her destination and violently forcing her out of the car.

"Before I could even get my shoes off or get my phone to try and call 911, he grabbed me by the collar, ripped me out of the backseat and slammed me face-first down into a ditch," Dunn said. "Somehow in the scuffle, I thought I called 911, but I didn't even get the number right. But it was a miracle. They called me back. And when I came to, I was screaming, and I saw headlights. He ended up just leaving me alone at that point and took off."

Dunn filed a police report after receiving treatment at an emergency room. While Dunn stated Boakye immediately completed the trip in her app to remove the driver's information, she was still able to provide detectives with a photo of the suspect.

Police issued a warrant for misdemeanor assault after identifying Boakye as the suspect. While the driver has been arrested, no information is currently available regarding any further charges or bail.
