Five Miami police officers have been charged after security video shows the cops violently apprehending two black men.

According to the Associated Press, Sgt. Jose Perez, Officer Kevin Perez, Officer Robert Sabater, Officer David Rivas, and Officer Steven Serrano have all been arrested and charged in connection with last week's incident.

Authorities claim Dalonta Crudup, 24, ran from authorities after allegedly hitting an officer with his vehicle. Crudup ran into the lobby of a nearby building before police swarmed on him. Khalid Vaughn, 28, began filming the assault and was tackled by officers and repeatedly punched.

“Excessive force can never, ever be an acceptable solution,” Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle told reporters during Monday's presser. “We’re all really horrified by it. When we see this, it’s alarming, it’s disturbing. Nobody wants this to happen including police departments themselves.”

“This is why [the] duty to intervene in training is necessary,” Fernandez Rundle continued. “They did a grave disservice to the people they have sworn to serve.”
