Donald Trump’s issues with LeBron James found them going at each other publicly in the media, with James calling Trump a “bum” at one point. Since then, Trump has been at LeBron, especially when the basketball player rallied for Black Lives Matter during the 2020 NBA season held in the bubble in Orlando. Now, Trump has taken another shot at LeBron, this time making the NBA star a punchline in a transphobic joke.
During the Turning Point USA conference recently held, Trump spoke and ended up on the subject of women’s basketball. Trump went on to say that he’d only be selecting trans athletes. In more conservative states, politicians have been trying to use trans athletes as a talking point to change policy. In true Trump fashion, the former president used the subject as a chance to take a shot at James.
Trump went on to say, “If I were a coach, I’ll tell you, I wouldn’t be talking to too many women as we know women. I’d be getting some of these people that, ‘they’re women.’” He continued saying, “Somebody said that if LeBron James ever decided to get the operation, how would he be on the court?”
From there, Trump went on to berate the star athlete, reiterating that the NBA’s ratings are down because of his political status. Take a look above.
