Lil Nas X has been in the headlines after putting out a video taunting Nike following their trademark infringement case against the brand he collaborated with to make the “Satan” Air Max 97. Since then, he has dropped the video for “Industry Baby” featuring Jack Harlow. The video for the track featured Lil Nas X in prison and was the subject of controversy due to the imagery, featuring him dancing naked in the shower with a group of men at one point.

While many have applauded the rapper for being open and unapologetic, many like Dr. Boyce Watkins have taken to the internet to call out the rapper. Watkins said, “#LilNasX isn’t fighting for gay rights. He’s marketing the sexual irresponsibility that’s causing young men to die from AIDS.” He didn’t stop there with the extreme statement, as he said, “Being gay is one thing, but being a super spreader is another. There’s nothing healthy or helpful about that video. Especially for children."

Lil Nas X was not here for any of the comments, especially considering that the video does none of the things mentioned by Watkins. The rapper went directly at Watkins on Twitter, saying, “y’all be silent as hell when n***as dedicate their entire music catalogue to rapping about sleeping with multiple women. But when I do anything remotely sexual i’m 'being sexually irresponsible' & 'causing more men to die from aids' y’all hate gay ppl and don’t hide it." Take a look above.
