Lil Yachty and Bhad Bhabie found themselves in a heated exchange over the topic of cultural appropriation during a recent IG Live session.

Bhad Bhabie is no stranger to accusations of cultural appropriation but after the most recent criticism she's received following her Inked Magazine cover, she decided to air out her frustrations on IG Live. Yachty hopped on with her soon after in hopes of easing the tension and letting her know that yelling about the criticism she receives isn't the most productive way to address it.

“You think if you yell at a screen…,” Yachty said. “I need you to understand it’s a better way to get your point across.”

Bhad Bhabie still frustrated fired back, “Y’all make these words have different terms to what they even mean. Cultural appropriation is if I was to sit up and say, ‘Oh. A certain race looks ugly with that.’ And then I go do that on myself. Take braids for example. If I say a Black girl look ugly with braids and then I go get them, that’s culturally appropriating. Or when girls put chopsticks in their hair, that’s cultural appropriation. That’s doing something negative with someone’s culture."

She continued that she's constantly hounded over her "hood accent" and the way she fashions her hair. Clearly frustrated himself at this point, Yachty replied, “On the real, I’m going to let you know something. You understand right now it’s you in a room yelling at a phone screen. For what though? Why?" When Bhabie refused to heed his advice, Yachty just said "Goodnight" before hopping off the live session.
