Robert Townsend took to Twitter to pay tribute to his "The Parent 'Hood" co-star Suzzanne Douglas amid news that she passed away at the age of 64.

He wrote, "My heart is full ,because yesterday I lost, my amazing dancing partner on TV for 5 years Suzzanne Douglas. We did “Work”on THE PARENT’HOOD.I just remember a lot of laughter and a lot of tears… her regal bright light will be missed…."

Reagan Gomez, who played Douglas' daughter on the show, also paid tribute, writing, "I’m at such a loss. I was a Philly kid straight off the Greyhound bus who took a lot of things 4 granted. Watching you work & move gracefully from scene to scene…made me love & respect this business. Our talks…we had lots of them. You taught me so much. I will never 4get you."

Suzzanne was put on the map with her lead role in 1989's "Tap" alongside Gregory Hines and Sammy Davis Jr. From there, she went on to star in "The Inkwell," "Jason’s Lyric," and "How Stella Got Her Groove Back." In 2015, she portrayed Cissy Houston in the Lifetime biopic "Whitney." Most recently, she starred in Ava Duvernay’s 2019 miniseries "When They See Us."
