Bill Cosby's release from prison shocked many as critics and accusers spoke out against the court's decision to overturn the comedian's conviction. However, Cosby had a number of supporters who remained by his side throughout his incarceration and rejoiced in his newfound freedom.

One of those supporters was Cosby's friend and former Cosby Show co-star, Phylicia Rashad. In past years, Rashad has defended Cosby and spoke out against his alleged victims. When it was announced that Cosby would be set free, she expressed her joy in the court overturning "a terrible wrong."

"FINALLY!!!!" Rashad tweeted. "A terrible wrong is being righted- a miscarriage of justice is corrected!"

As previously reported, a court ruled that it was unduly prejudicial to allow five women with stories similar to Andrea Constand to testify in Cosby's trial to prove that he had previously drugged and assaulted other women. A deal that Cosby made with former D.A. Bruce Castor that stated that if he testified in a civil deposition he would not face trial criminally was also brought up in the decision to overturn his conviction. The Supreme Court ruled the deal was broken by prosecutors.

Bill Cosby served three years of his 10-year sentence.
