According to reports, UFC fighter Luis Pena was arrested this past Friday in Florida on charges of robbery and assault. The police in Coral Springs, Florida, reported arrested Pena after a warrant for the fighter’s arrest was called in by an outside jurisdiction. Police were tipped off that Pena was Coral Springs, where they contacted the fighter to verify his identity and brought him in according to Christian Swinson, a spokesperson for Coral Springs PD.
News of this comes after Pena previously tweeted that he was dealing with “serious mental health issues” for the majority of his life and noted he “finally gained the strength to get and accept the help I’ve needed for a long time.”
While the information on what exactly went down with the situation that resulted in Pena’s arrest is limited, it was noted that Pena was charged with robbery by sudden snatching, criminal mischief, and battery. As of now, Pena is being held in the Broward County Detention Center, on hold from Palm Beach County. Stay tuned for more updates.
