According to reports, a 39-year-old Georgia man named Justin Tyran Roberts was arrested for allegedly being connected to three different shootings in under 24 hours. The shootings reportedly wounded people in the Columbus, Georgia area, as well as a section of Alabama.

Columbus police chief Freddie Blackmon spoke on the matter during a press conference this past Saturday, saying, “They were able to apprehend the suspect in the downtown area” of Columbus. The police claim the shootings started across the Chattahoochee River, which is in a neighboring city—Phenix City, Alabama. One person was shot multiple times outside of a hotel this past Friday night, according to the police chief. Hours later, three people were reportedly shot outside of a restaurant in Columbus. On Saturday, one more person was shot blocks away from where the previous shooting took place.

Blackmon noted that investigators say the description of Roberts was similar to what witnesses described at the previous shooting incidents in Columbus and Phenix City. As a result, Roberts was charged with theft by receiving stolen property, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
