Jessica Johanna Oseguera Gonzalez, the 34-year-old daughter of Mexican cartel boss Nemesio Ruben Oseguera Cervantes, aka "El Mencho," was sentenced to 30 months in prison on Friday (June 11) for violating the Kingpin Act. The act prohibits Americans from having financial dealings with companies that aid narcotics traffickers, and Oseguera Gonzalez has dual citizenship in the U.S. and Mexico. 

Oseguera Gonzalez previously pleaded guilty on March 12 to financial dealing and being engaged in leadership with Mexican companies that had been designated as narcotics traffickers. Court documents show she was involved financially with six Mexican businesses that had been sanctioned by the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the U.S. Department of the Treasury (OFAC) as designated narcotics traffickers. She was an alleged owner of two of the companies, and she was an officer, director, or agent of four other sanctioned businesses. 

Oseguera Gonzalez's father is the reputed head of a Jalisco New Generation drug cartel, and is currently a fugitive. The U.S. government offering $10 million for information leading to his arrest. Her brother Ruben, known as "El Menchito," is facing 15 years in prison after he previously pleaded not guilty to charges of conspiracy to distribute large quantities of cocaine and meth, and weapons charges.
