Porn star Dakota Skye was found dead on Wednesday in her Los Angeles motorhome weeks after drawing heavy criticism for her topless photo at a George Floyd mural. Sky -- whose real name was Lauren Kaye Scott and also performed as "Kota Sky" -- was discovered by her husband.
Weeks before her death, Skye faced heavy backlash for flashing her breasts at a George Floyd mural in Santa Barbara and posting it on her now-deleted Instagram account. The caption to her May 4 post read, "Happy #GeorgeFloyd day in #santabarbara <3 #dakotaskye equality&fair treatment for all. Dope mural."
After the post was considered disrespectful by many commenters, Skye defended the post by saying she was celebrating cops getting exposed for abusing their authority.
Skye appeared in over 300 adult films during her career, which began in 2013. She was nominated for Best New Starlet at the 2015 AVN Awards and remained a performer until last year. However, she had reportedly struggled with alcohol and fentanyl addiction and came from an abusive family environment.
A cause of death is yet to be confirmed. Dakota Skye was 27-years-old at the time of her death.
