Almighty Jay announced on Instagram that he's dropped YBN from his name amid an online feud between him and YBN Nahmir.
"I been going back and forward with my label for months tryna get this 'YBN' s*** off my name on social media," the 21-year-old wrote. "I'm Almighty Jay!"
The announcement comes after Almighty Jay and YBN Nahmir had a heated exchange earlier this week. The argument resulted in both rappers challenging each other to a fight and Almighty Jay posting a vlog detailing the rift between the two.
According to Almighty Jay, he and Nahmir have been at odds for the past two years over a money issue. Jay claimed he was involved in an incident that Nahmir got dragged into. He said the altercation required them to pay an amount that Nahmir didn't want to pay in full so Jay paid most of the bill. Since the incident, however, Nahmir has claimed Jay owes him money.
"So like two years ago, an incident end up like, occurring with some n***** I used to be cool with,” Almighty Jay said at the beginning of the video. “They end up doing something and Nahmir end up gettin' caught up in it somehow. Mind you, I ain't cool with the n***** no more now that the incident has happened...I ended up paying $30,000 and Nahmir ended up paying $10,000. A couple months go by and me and him ain't talk. A n**** who I'm close with, that we both are close with, say, 'Hey, Nahmir said you owe him $10,000, that $10,000 he had to pay.' Mind you, I paid the $30,000 for him."
Almighty Jay continued to speak on the alleged debt before talking about lying interviews about him and Nahmir still being on good terms. He also spoke on Nahmir's reaction to him getting jumped and robbed in New York. To hear more, check out the above video.
