The body of a four-year-old Texas was found stabbed to death after he was abducted from his bed hours earlier. A jogger discovered the body eight blocks from the child's home four hours before the boy was reported missing on Saturday morning.

Darriynn Ronnell Brown was arrested for the crime after security footage captured him abducting Cash Gernon, around 5 A.M., while the boy slept. The 18-year-old suspect returned for Cash's twin brother, Carter, but got spooked and fled the home minutes before Cash's body was discovered.

Monica Sherrod reported the boy missing and said Brown entered through an unlocked garage door and forced open the back door into the house. Investigators learned that she was not the mother of the boys and had been dating the boys' father. However, the father disappeared after the couple split and she had been caring for the boys ever since.

The twins' biological mother and grandmother had been looking for them since the father's disappearance and had no idea they were left with his ex-girlfriend months ago. The surviving twin has since been reunited with his mother.

While there's no known motive for the kidnapping, Sherrod's son, 18-year-old Kamron Mori, said he knew Brown from middle school and high school and that they used to be friends. However, Mori claimed the attack was random.

A woman claiming to be Brown's mother said he was at home all weekend couldn't have committed the crime. She also said Brown is a patient of Metrocare Services, which provides mental health care to children and adults. She added that Brown helps take care of several young cousins and wouldn't have hurt the victim.

Darriynn Brown has been charged with kidnapping and burglary. Further charges are expected pending forensic analysis.
