Reports surfaced noting that the Supreme Court agreed to hear out a Mississippi case that asks for a re-evaluation of the precedent-setting Roe V. Wade ruling on abortion rights.

The court is reportedly examining whether states will be allowed to ban abortions before a fetus can survive outside of the mother’s womb. The justices on the case were appointed by Donald Trump in a 6-3 conservative majority, but it was noted that Mississippi wasn’t looking to overrule Roe V. Wade. The state is looking to enforce the banning of abortion after 15 weeks of pregnancy.

Previously, Mississippi’s ban was blocked by lower courts, and the Supreme Court previously shut down state appeals over the abortion bans. According to the CDC, over 90% of abortions go down within the first 13 weeks of a woman’s pregnancy. Stay tuned for more updates.
