"The voice of basketball," Marv Albert will have a new play-by-play partner after five-time NBA All-Star Chris Webber's exit from TNT.

Webber and TNT agreed to part ways on the eve of the NBA playoffs after both sides passed on renewing the former forward's contract. According to reports, there had been no contract negotiations as there was a feeling TNT did not want him back and Webber did not wish to continue his 13-year tenure at the network.

Webber's absence was noticeable during Thursday's game between the Philadelphia 76ers and the Miami Heat. While NBA Hall of Famer Reggie Miller filled in for Webber during last night's game, Grant Hill and Jim Jackson are also possible candidates to fill the spot during the playoffs. This year may also be Marv Albert's final time commentating on the NBA playoffs.

Chris Webber has not discussed his exit or where he intends on working next.
