According to reports, a co-founder of the organization "Students for Trump" was recently sentenced to 13 months in prison for posing as a lawyer.

John Lambert, 25, was sentenced on Tuesday after pleading guilty to wire fraud back in 2019. In addition to his prison term, Judge Valerie Caproni also ordered Lambert to forfeit over $46,000 and pay more than $21,000 in restitution to his victims.

Prosecutors say Lambert posed online as a prominent New York City attorney between August 2016 to April 2018, claiming to have hundreds of clients in the tech and business sectors. During that time, under the alias of "Eric Pope," Lambert swindled six people and corporations into paying for supposed legal services.

“My life will be forever marked by this poor choice,” Lambert said during sentencing. He added that he's spending “countless hours in prayer to rid myself of the demons.”
