According to reports, more than 90 people were found inside a Houston-area home suspected in a human smuggling ring. Authorities say some of the captives tested positive for COVID-19.

Cops were alerted about a possible kidnapping in the area. Their investigation eventually led them to the southwest Houston home, where 91 people were held inside. Authorities counted 86 men and five women. No children were present and the youngest person was reportedly in their early 20s.

Authorities are continuing to investigate who brought the people to the home. However, Assistant Police Chief Daryn Edwards believes this wasn't a trafficking ring but more of a smuggling operation.
