Video emerging from the New York City borough of Queens shows a man whack an NYPD detective in the head with a plastic stick.
The detective was processing the scene of a robbery when the man assaulted him with the stick. After the cop went to the ground riving in pain, another officer and a man who appeared to be a bystander went in pursuit of the man. Authorities later identified the man as Akeele Morgan, 25, of the Bronx.
Morgan was arrested and charged with assault, criminal possession of a weapon, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct. No clear motive was provided for the attack.
