Update 04/26/2021 10:58am:

More details are coming to light involving the two men arrested for the murder of rapper Mo3.

According to The Dallas Morning News, Devin Maurice Brown, 28, told police that he was aware that Mo3 was dating "a known witness" and that he was upset over a video posted on Facebook presumably involving Mo3 and the woman. However, Brown denied playing a role in the shooting. Brown was indicted on murder charges in the death of Mo3 on Wednesday (April 21).

Phone records showed numerous calls between Brown and 22-year-old Kewon Dontrell White on the day before and the day Mo3 was shot by White. Cellphone data placed White near the apartment where Mo3 stayed the night before the shooting, and it also showed him on a similar path as Mo3 leading up to the shooting. An arrest warrant affidavit showed that witnesses identified White as the gunman. White was charged with murder and indicted on the charge in February, and he was also indicted Thursday on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in connection with the November shooting.

Brown is facing additional charges after police conducted a search of his home, where a stolen AK-47 was found in his closet, as well as a substance that tested positive for synthetic cannabinoids, often referred to as K2 or spice, methamphetamine tablets, scales, baggies and more than $3,200. For those charges, Brown was also indicted on one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute a controlled substance.

White also faces unrelated charges of evading arrest, theft, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, and an aggravated assault charge. Police say they found a 9mm pistol in White's pocket after apprehending him when he tried to flee on a dirt bike and then on foot when officers tried to stop him.

If convicted of the federal charges, White faces up to 10 years in federal prison and Brown faces up to 20 years on both the drug and gun charges.
