Update 04/24/2021 3:56pm:

Caitlyn Jenner recently declared she would be running for the Governor of California. News of this comes after the current Governor—Gavin Newsom, continuously faces backlash for his response to the COVID-19 pandemic, with rumors surfacing that there are potential candidates to challenge Newsom in a Recall election.

It was noted by TMZ that Jenner has been receiving support for her election bid. However, it was noted that the Kardashian family won’t be supporting Jenner financially, as they have differing political views.

Jenner issued a press release on the election bid, saying, “California has been my home for nearly 50 years. I came here because I knew that anyone, regardless of their background or station in life, could turn their dreams into reality. But for the past decade, we have seen the glimmer of the Golden State reduced by one-party rule that places politics over progress and special interests over people. Sacramento needs an honest leader with a clear vision." Stay tuned for more updates.

According to Axios, Caitlyn Jenner is considering a run for governor of California, as Gov. Gavin Newsom faces a recall attempt.

Three sources close to Jenner confirmed the news to Axios, revealing that Jenner is working with political consultants. Jenner is a Republican, who previously supported Donald Trump, and Axios reports that she is working with Caroline Wren, a fundraiser who previously worked on Trump's 2020 election campaign.

Newsom is likely to face a recall election later this year, the first time since 2003 when Democratic Gov. Gray Davis was ousted and replaced by Republican Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger. Nearly 1,500,000 petition signatures from registered voters are required to put the election on the ballot, which hasn't been reached yet. State and local officials have until April 29 to count the signatures and determine if an election will be held.
