The build-up of Swiss Beatz’s and Timbaland’s ‘Verzuz’ platform that has found music legends showing off their catalog against one another has grown in a massive way during the pandemic. Initially, it was thought that Apple would take a chance on scooping up and promoting the event, but now news has surfaced noting the two producers have sold their brand to another company: Triller.

Reports noted that Swizz and Timbaland are “large shareholders” in the Triller network, which was in exchange for selling their brand. Along with that, the 42 artists who were featured on Verzuz have been made shareholders in Triller as well.

Timbaland and Swizz Beatz issued a statement on the new move, saying: “We couldn’t be happier to be elevating Verzuz and Triller and to recognize, in a very real way, all of the artists who have helped make Verzuz the global phenomenon it is today. Our dream, the artists’ dream, today is realized, which is no small feat. Triller Verzuz is a company that’s by the artists, for the artists, and with the people.”
