Lee Daniels has been making waves for his latest movie telling the story of singer Billie Holiday—‘The United States vs. Billie Holiday.’ The release of the film found Daniels being interviewed by Collider, where he revealed shocking news about an opportunity he almost had to direct one of Hugh Jackman’s ‘Wolverine’ films.

While speaking to Collider, Daniels spoke on the missed opportunity, claiming it stemmed from Hugh Jackman watching his film ‘Precious.’ Daniels noted that Jackman requested that he be in the director’s seat for one of the Wolverine films, but Daniels said the meeting between him and Fox didn’t go well at all.

“He sent me into the studio to Fox… And I had never done a studio film before, and it was a disaster,” said Daniels. The director then spoke on the loss, saying, “[I] pitched my way right out of the room.” Daniels spoke on the missed opportunity even further, saying, “I pulled over to the Kentucky Fried Chicken afterward and ate a whole six-pack of wings. It was the worst meeting of my life. I don’t know how he gets Wolverine from Precious, but I love him and he’s a friend to this day.”
