Nipsey Hussle's death continues to ignite speculation and conspiracy theories nearly two years after the rapper's death. After Nipsey's passing, rumors started circulating about Big U and the rapper having issues with one another. During a Drink Champs episode with his Hip Hop Uncovered co-stars, the famed street legend cleared the air.
"We ain't got no beef. Period," Big U said. "We never stopped talking. We didn't go two days with nothing. We didn't have nothing, nothing. All the way up until he signed a deal with Atlantic Records, he called me and said, 'Unc, let's go.' Where the f*** is the beef at?"
Big U continued by revealing that Nipsey flew him to New York after signing his deal with Atlantic and also featured him in the music video for "Rap N*****," which was the first single on Victory Lap. The community activist added that he was promoting Nip and the Victory Lap album before people who only became fans of the late rapper recently. He also revealed that he spent five days in the studio for a planned mixtape that was supposed to be released after the album.
"So where these rumors coming from?" Big U asked. "It's just n***** using his name and his death to make some money. And then the rest of the ignorant people falling off of that."
He also responded to the conspiracy theories surrounding Nip's death. He questioned the validity of the theories while also letting it be known that he didn't know Nipsey's murder suspect, Eric Holder, also known as Shitty Cuz.
"Where the f*** is the conspiracy? They clearly had a conversation, they clearly was beefing, they clearly grew up together," he said. "And this a n**** I've never seen before, I never met him. I never met Shitty [Cuz]. You gotta remember we, at any given time, may have 1,500 homies on the streets -- maybe 5 or 6,000. I don't know all these young n*****. I'm 54, I don't run with n***** that's 25, 26, 27. That ain't my squad."
The above clip concludes with Big U directing the public to question those who knew Eric Holder, as well as those who are currently profiting off of the late rapper rather than him. Big U also highlighted that he was the only person to honor and award Nipsey Hussle while the music artist was still alive.
