Previously, Jeremy Lin spoke on the rise of hate crime against Asians during the COVID-19 pandemic. While speaking on that, Lin suggested that he has experienced racism while on the basketball court, with people allegedly calling him “coronavirus” during the game. Now, the G-League has reportedly launched an investigation of the claims made by Lin.

Since then, Lin issued a second statement on the matter, saying he has no plans on calling out the people who called him “coronavirus.” Steve Kerr has spoken on Jeremy Lin’s stance, saying, “I applaud Jeremy for his words and echo his sentiments regarding racism against the Asian American community,” Kerr said. “It’s just so ridiculous and obviously spawned by many people, including our former president, as it relates to the coronavirus originating in China. It’s just shocking.” Take a look at Lin’s full statement above.
