According to reports, an Alabama man has pleaded guilty to fatally stabbing a motorist in 2018. By accepting the plea deal, Ronald Jason Mann, 33, will be sentenced to life without parole in the killing of Davon Waldrep, 47  on September 2, 2018.

On that September night, Mann robbed a couple by forcing them to withdraw money at an ATM inside a local convenience store. After getting the money, Mann drove away in his getaway vehicle but ran into a roadside sign.

Authorities say Waldrep drove up at the scene of Mann's accident to see if he could help. However, Mann stabbed the "Good Samaritan" multiple times after Waldrep refused to relinquish his cellphone. “Mr. Waldrep literally was coming to the aid of a person he had never met before,” said prosecutor AC.J. Robinson.

Troy Carter, Mann's co-defendant, already pleaded guilty to murder and awaits sentencing.
