Update 02/26/2021 1:45pm:

The 22-year-old man accused of killing Dallas rapper Mo3 was officially indicted for the murder earlier this week.

Kewon Dontrell White is accused of gunning down Mo3, real name Melvin A. Noble, in broad daylight on Interstate 35E. Mo3 was 28-years-old at the time of his death.

According to The Dallas Morning News, "Dallas police have said Noble pulled over on the road and tried to flee his car. But the driver of another car also stopped and chased him with a rifle. The other driver shot Noble several times, before driving north on the interstate."

White was arrested three weeks after the November shooting following a manhunt and calls for authorities to address the city's spike in homicides.

The suspect is already in federal custody on a felony charge of possessing a firearm in violation of a previous felony conviction. White's trial for the violation is scheduled to begin in April and he faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted.

If convicted of Mo3's murder, Kewon White faces life in prison with the possibility of parole.

White's lawyer in state court, George Ashford, said he hasn't been able to speak with his client while in federal custody. His lawyer for the federal charge, Bree West, could not be reached comment.
