Mogul and former music manager Deb Antney shocked many when she identified herself as a supporter of former President Donald Trump in the most recent season of Growing Up Hip Hop Atlanta. During a recent appearance on DJ Scream and Big Bank's Big Facts podcast, she cleared the air on where her support lies with the former Commander in Chief.
"It ain't that I'm in love with him. First off, democracy is what? And that's what you have to think about. It has nothing to do with anything," she explained 37 minutes into the episode. "I'm a keep it a hundred with you, I ain't vote for neither one of them. I said if I had to vote, I would go there 'cause he's the lesser evil. I'm a realist, you understand? So, he sugarcoats nothing. He lets you know what the hell is going on. You know already. He's not a controlled individual. So, I love him 'cause you can't control him."
Ms. Deb continued by saying "you know what you're gonna get" with Trump and highlighted him bringing "a lot of real people home." She also claimed the former president exposed a lot before downplaying President Joe Biden's path to the presidency.
"If they did not write those checks to all those celebrities, athletes, and everybody else to support Biden, do you really think he would have been in there?" Deb asked. "The man been in politics for 100 years, what did he do?"
When questioned about Trump's response to the racial tension in America last summer, Deb shifted responsibility towards African Americans for not coming together and allowing the injustices to die down during the presidential election.
"I don't care who's in that office right now," she said. "They not gonna do nothing for me. They not doing nothing for any of us 'cause we not doing nothing for ourselves. It is what it is until we learn to stand together and stand with each other."
