Update 02/18/2021 12:55pm:

Hip Hop and NBA fans criticized Meek Mill Wednesday night on Twitter following a leaked track with Lil Baby. During the song, Meek Mill rapped a Kobe Bryant line, which referenced the NBA legend's fatal helicopter crash.

While many considered the lyric distasteful and disrespectful, some tried invoking cancel culture on the Philidelphia rapper. Meek Mill dismissed the backlash as "internet antics" when he issued a response to the negative reaction.

"Somebody promo a narrative and y'all follow it....y'all internet antics cannot stop me....s*** like zombie land or something! Lol," he tweeted. "They paying to influence y'all now...[it's] almost like mind control 'wake up.'"

The backlash over the controversial line continued into Thursday morning. However, the leaked song has been removed from the internet and the account that posted the song has been suspended.

Meek Mill has ruffled quite a few feathers with his verse on the upcoming Lil Baby track entitled "Kobe."

Users across the Twitter platform were calling for Meek to be canceled after rapping, “And if I ever lack I’m going out with my choppa it be another Kobe.” Many called the line disrespectful, while others called it out for being a poorly constructed bar. Either way, the line didn't go over well with fans and has provided Meek detractors with more than enough ammo to ridicule him online.
