Jeff Zrebiec of TheAthletic.com revealed on Friday (February 12) that Ravens cornerback Jimmy Smith and his family were robbed at gunpoint at a hotel in Los Angeles. Zrebiec revealed that Smith and his family were followed from LAX to their hotel room, where they were robbed.

Smith and his family are safe, according to Zrebiec, who wrote, "Smith and his family weren't hurt. Smith has been in communication with the team about the incident." The Ravens also responded to the report with a statement, which read, ""We are aware of the situation involving Jimmy Smith. We have spoken with Jimmy and he and his family are safe."

2021 will make Smith's 11th year with the team that drafted him in the first round of the 2011 draft.
