Atlanta rapper Ralo has remained behind since he was arrested in 2018 for transporting nearly $2 million worth of marijuana on a private jet. While awaiting trial, Ralo has proclaimed his innocence and fought to get released on bail.

Ralo took to Instagram on Thursday to update fans and plead for leniency and a fair trial considering marijuana is becoming increasingly legalized in the United States.

"MARIJUANA IS SOLD IN CORNER STORES AND MARKETS ALL AROUND THE WORLD," Ralo wrote. "SCIENCE SAYS [IT'S] A HARMLESS DRUG. I FULLY UNDERSTAND THAT I [REPRESENT] #DOGFOOD [AND] MANY PEOPLE HAVE POINTED IN MY DIRECTION IN REGARDS TO THAT DRUG [AND] OTHER THINGS, BUT [THAT'S] NOT WHAT [I'M] CHARGED WITH. I BEGG THAT MY CASE BE TREATED AS A #MARIJUANA CASE [AND] NOT AH #RALO CASE. WHEN I ASK FOR MY FREEDOM, [I'M] NOT ASKING TO GET AWAY WITH A CRIME, [I'M] ASKING FOR ANOTHER CHANCE TO B AH BETTER RALO... #FREERALO."

Previously, Ralo's bond was revoked in December 2020 after he was caught conducted drug deals from prison. Ralo is facing four federal counts of possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
