January 26 will mark one year since the loss of Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna in a tragic helicopter crash. The loss was a hard one for sports fans who were impacted by Bryant all across the world. Now, Vanessa Bryant has asked that the media refrain from showing any type of footage related to the crash out of respect for her family and the legacy of Kobe and Gianna.

Via Instagram, Vanessa Bryant said “I want to thank everyone that has handled their media coverage respectfully. ♥️To everyone else, please reconsider your “news story” and look at your footage through the eyes of their children, parents, spouse, siblings, and family. Celebrate their lives, not the day they lost them.”

From there, she continued on saying “We ask that you do not air photos of the wreckage, helicopter in the air or accident scene. We do NOT want to see it. Our year has been traumatic enough. You have thousands of photos and videos you can show besides footage of 1/26/2020.” Take a look above.
