According to reports, the NBA is investigating Kyrie Irving and a series of videos that surfaced online showing the Brooklyn Nets' star partying without a mask. Irving had already been away from the team after missing a game on Jan 5 and hasn't appeared in the subsequent four contests. There weren't many details disclosed surrounding Irving's absence other than he was away for "personal reasons."

If Irving abruptly stepping away from the team wasn't enough of a distraction, the newly surfaced video adds more fuel to the fire. Nets GM Sean Marks issued a statement indicating the team is working with the league to determine if Irving violated COVID-19 protocol.

"Kyrie remains away from the team due to personal reasons," Marks said in the statement. "A date of his return has yet to be finalized. In the meantime, we will continue to stay focused on our organizational goals."

"Kyrie will have the opportunity to address his absence when he is ready to do so," Marks concluded.

If it is determined that Irving violated league protocol, he will likely be made to quarantine before returning to the team after already missing several games. The Brooklyn Nets are currently sitting in the ninth seed with a 5-6 record.
